Gorgeous crazy quilting...............

Elaine's crazy quilt began with this hand embroidered dressing gown left to her by an aunt who passed away in the 1940's.................

............she created stunning crazy squares to surround the peacock panel.............a silk ribbon rose cluster.............

............a weeping willow tree.............

....................blanket stitch fans...................

..............silk ribbon flowers............

................ a beaded flower - scrumptious.............

...........beaded feather stitch and other bits and bobs........

.................big and bold chevron + ruched ribbon flowers + pearl beads + ribbon lazy daisy + gold metallic colonial knots = perfect seam treatment..................

............... whipped chain stitch leaves and silk ribbon petals..............

Thanks again, Elaine, for allowing me to show off your beautiful crazy. I cannot wait to see it all complete!!!

  1. Your blog is beautiful...love all of the work shown. I found it from your registration for CQJP 2012, and testing the link you provided. Usually, I only have a moment to click on...and off. But, I was so drawn to your photos that I have just spent many minutes going back to read all of the previous posts! Now, I'm hooked...and your newest follower!
