"Foolproof crazy quilting" to the rescue

Sue was in a big rush to get her daughter's wedding crazy completed ....................
it made our lives so much easier with my book - we discussed what should go where and what she could find it in - and before we knew it, the wall hanging was complete.

Needless to say, Sue's daughter loved it!!!!

I can see why - great use of the two colours, Sue.

I suggested to some of my students that we should embroider our initials................
it was a lot of fun and, once again my job was made easy by suggesting where they could find the stitches in  "Foolproof crazy quilting"..........

Gail's surname begins with a G - the mirrored G's look great!!

A big thank you to all my students who allow me to share their beautiful work.

Emotional, thats how I feel part 3

Ann has recently completed the workshop I taught at the CACA.
Ann's colour choice is sooooo good ..............

Her seam treatments are innovative......................

and interesting..................

she is filled her negative spaces with a wide range of stitches, beading etc

her contrast between her seams is defined.............

Ann's project is nearly complete.....

Her borders that she has chosen are going to frame her work perfectly

She seems to like a spider web or two..............

These stab stitch flowers are very effective...............

I am so looking forward to seeing this all complete!! No pressure, Ann!

Emotional - thats how I feel.............

I have to be honest, I often feel very emotional when I see the work that is done by my "students". It is evident from their work that they have thoroughly enjoyed the process of crazy quilting. I have often said that one of the main reasons I love crazy quilting is that it is unique to the maker. I have taught the same stitches etc to a class of women and all their work is different - it's almost like a celebration of their interpretation of the stitches and techniques I have taught them.

So, these very feelings of emotion came over me when I popped into the Caloundra group to oversee the completion of their workshop.

Lenore's work featured in this post - and Suz and Anne's work in the next few posts - is quite wonderful.
Lenore used conquered the oyster stitch and turned them into half flowers along a seam.

.............silk ribbon roses..................

Bouquet of silk ribbon flowers

............ants, a trellis of sequins and buds. Not to mention the embroidered motif - which was white and Lenore changed it completely with her embroidery!

Oh my gosh..............buttons, sequins, beads etc etc etc

Wonderful work Lenore!!!
