Missing my stitching.............

I seem to have no time to do my own crazy............................

.....................and I am missing it.

HOWEVER, I can create vicariously through my lovely students. I mentioned in yesterdays post that Rosemary (Last Tuesday of the month class at the Patchwork Angel) has saved so much of her life's fabric..................

It's quite lovely..................school badges, her father's military clothing - the list goes on.

Little bits of unfinished artwork..............

Name tags from her school uniform..................

Every piece of Rosemary's stash has a story - a history..................

She is generous too....................

She incorporates all I teach into this collection of her life.....

It is special. Very special.

I do all my crazy in a hoop - a lovely hoop on a stand - and have actively encouraged my students to give it a try. Rosemary is one of my many converts...

Till next time.

Students "stuff"

I absolutely love all the "stuff" my students have to bring to the classes............................. to create beautiful crazy like this by tap-dancing Gwen - you have to have "stuff"..................

I managed to find the photo of the purse Wendy M (Tuesday am - Patchwork Angel class) made for a friend - gorgeous isn't it??????

Rosemary - oh my hat - I would so love to se her fabric stash - she has kept absolutely everything over the course of her life. And I mean everything - quite incredible.

I also get to see a LOT of pincushions. This one, I particularly love - a magnetic needle catcher!!!!

................an oldie but a goodie................

Bettye's sumptuous pincushion - it had to be Bettye's - I mean it's purple!!!

Another one belonging to Bettye...........

This collection of vintage needles, belonging to Cheryl, is so special - all the needles are perfect - no rust!!!

Rosemary has made these quite wonderful bags. She made one for me a few years back and I use it all the time.

The way people store their stuff also fascinates me...........................some are neat and orderly..............

..................and others are a glorious mess.  I love glorious messes.!!!!

Teaching crazy quilting...........................

I know that I have said so said so many times how much I love teaching crazy quilting. Everybody has their own take on the stitch combinations that I go through in my workshops - it's the aspect of teaching that I enjoy the most.

Elaine (Caboolture workshops) went through surgery between all the classes but you would never think so.

Her work is gorgeous - and her colour palette is so delicate. At the beginning of my workshops I go one and on about how important colour choice is - IT IS EVERYTHING!

My photography does not do Elaine's work justice - I apologise.

Silk ribbon embroidery.

Herringbone...................

The instructions for these agapanthus are found on page 86 of my book "Foolproof crazy quilting"

Cheryl has been working on these little embroidered purses in my classes for about 18 months.

We have come to the end of the embroidery and embellishing.

Its looking gorgeous........................

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much work has gone into this project.

Cheryl has enjoyed every moment of it..........................

She does love a bit of bling.

So pretty.

We are now joining the blocks.

It is going to be magnificent.
