My cute distraction and crazy quilting at Maleny Magic.

I am very distracted at the moment - I wander why!

But I can pull myself away and get busy in my (messy) sewing space.

I am so enjoying my workshops at Maleny Magic - we are now into our eighth  month - how time flies!
Dianna arrived at my workshops with vintage/antique fabrics and clothing which she promptly cut into!
Isn't her work looking great?

Button cluster - vintage and modern............

....................silk ribbon embroidery...............

................ as you can see we utilised all the features on the vintage clothing........

Feather stitch - always my favourite........................

.....................more feather - but almost unrecognisable..................... exactly what is needed in crazy, I think anyway.

Shelley's work - the neutral background is perfect to showcase her beautiful embroidery ............................

Feather stitch...........................

More feather - have I told you that it is my favourite stitch??????

Thanks for sharing your work!
See you all next week at Maleny Magic. http://www.malenymagicpatchworks.com/

A very cute distraction and crazy quilting................

My family spent a special weekend in Canberra with my son and his fiancé - celebrating the purchase of their first home.

Spring in Canberra - blossoms a plenty.

AND we have a new addition to the family - our new little Tibetan Spaniel - a very, very cute distraction!!!!

My workshops at Rothwell - what a friendly group of women. Their work is still in progress - but well worth showing. However, my photos are not the greatest.

Lets begin with Judy's work...
Judy's feather stitch.

Herringbone detail and silk ribbon embroidery.

Silk ribbon embroidery.

Straight feather stitch - I love this seam treatment - nice and strong! Pity that the rest of the photos of Judy's work were not worth posting. I need to take my camera to the next lesson.

Moving onto Joy's work.............. a great feather stitch combination.

Very pretty silk ribbon embroidery.

Spider web roses and herringbone. Unfortunately, most of my photos of Joy's work were too blurry to post!

Rhonda's crazy............ Very pretty herringbone and spider web roses.

Feather stitch, herringbone and chain stitch - a great contrast to the silk ribbon flowers.

....................looking very pretty.................

.....................more silk ribbon flowers...........

Feather stitch - love this seam treatment - nice and clean!!

Buttonhole fan!

Thank you Judy, Joy and Rhonda for sharing your work.
see you in two weeks time.

crazy quilting by Roslyn

My workshops have come to an end - sadly - with the Caboolture . However, that does mean I have some more beautiful work to share.
Roslyn's crazy is so very, very pretty

Her colour choice is gorgeous.

Her embroidery is beautifully stitched.

………..the shape of her squares has not been compromised by over embellishing……….

………..always a tough thing to do - finding the balance between too much and not enough……..

Roslyn was so lovely to have in the classes.

As always, I need to thank my students for allowing me to share their work between all the classes I teach.

I feel so privileged to teach this beautiful craft.

thanks Roslyn.

A very pretty morning teach crazy at the Angel

The Thursday morning class turned out to be more of a party. Karyn J bought in the most deliciously pretty cupcakes for morning tea. THANK YOU, Karyn!

Delish!

These beautiful crochet bouquets were made by Karyn for her new daughter-in-laws wedding.

Gorgeous!!!!! I love them......................

Cheryl H was in a very "vocal" mood too - we are putting the lace on her pretty purses.

Debby, my good friend and walking buddy - her Brazilian work is looking oh so pretty!

SO very very pretty!

My afternoon class had some truly amazing work on the go too - BUT for some reason (too much sugar perhaps) the only photo I took was of these ribbons secured by ladybug pegs belonging to Martina !!!!

See you soon Thursday girls!!!
Thanks again for allowing me to share your work.

teaching crazy quilting.................

It has just got real - we are so excited - a wedding in the family - wooohoooo. I cannot wait!!!!!!!! My son, Gareth to his beautiful Chloe.

Not that I need any more buttons - but I couldn't walk away. A tin of vintage colour and a jar of classic pearls. AND some flour sacks. One happy shopper.

I am finding the time to work on something new.

Back to my lovely students. For quite a few months now my "older" students have been working on their Brazilian embroidery. I thought it would be a nice change for them if I taught them something new.
This is Eleanor's work - she does love the delicate colours.

Cheryl W has just started her new project.

And Elaine, a girl after my own heart - we love colour!

Up close and personal As you can see I am not really going the tradition Brazilian - we are going a little bigger and more flamboyant - nice and free!

Linda is still working on her little squares - she has millions of them!!

Thankfully, that means she will be with us for a while..................

I LOVE this block..........................

Wendy M has started on a crazy teddy - very pretty, soft colours.

I am not great at taking photos lately - we are too busy chatting and stitching!!

Love
