i get excited.......................

I tend to get a tad excited when I see finished projects. Claire arrived with her wonderful wall-hanging which she worked on in my classes at Maleny Magic.

Claire's work is full of interesting stitch combinations.

Quirky spiders................and couched thread

feather stitches, wheatear, buttons

bugs, whipped chain, herringbone etc,etc,etc

a little bit of Brazilian embroidery here and there..........

I so enjoy her clean seam treatments.................lovely and strong...

just one or two bits of braid or trim..............

.......everything else is created by her.............

...that includes the beaded daisy chain in the block below.

Thank you, Claire, for allowing me to share you beautiful work.

Teaching with Foolproof crazyquilt projects

I have now been teaching at Maleny Magic for 18 months - its a beautiful drive up the mountain and the gardens are lovely too.

Bev's crazy is looking beautiful too..............

The blue background creates a striking backdrop to the embroidery.

Heather and Cilla are making the tea cosy from my book - Foolproof crazy quilting http://www.ctpub.com/foolproof-crazy-quilt-projects/- I encouraged them, just for a change, to use a single piece of fabric instead of piecing the cosy.

Heather cut up a jacket she has not worn in years

Isn't the red glorious.................

as is her embroidery.............

It's always so exciting for me to see what is created in my workshops.

I am so fortunate to teach this creative form of quilting.

Thanks for allowing me to share your gorgeous work, Heather and Bev.

Betty and Mrs Echidna

I get to meet so many interesting women in my crazy quilting workshops.
Betty Johnstone is the author of a delightful children's book called "Mrs Echidna's Dilemma". Not only did Betty write the book she also did all the incredible embroidery that is featured in it. Australian flora and fauna in embroidery - stunning work.
Pop onto her website to read all about it -  http://mrsechidna.com/

During my workshops, Betty chose to make some hexagons as featured in my book.

Needless to say her embroidery is beautiful.............

...............and interesting..................

She added her trademark stump work...............

......................gorgeous ribbon work....................

...................beading and another butterfly.............

.......buttons, beads and a spider or two................

..............feather stitch................

.............beetles and ribbon work.............

I love this button cluster.................

........another spider and a very interesting button cluster.

Thank you Betty for sharing your work - I still have a few more photos to come.
